Ioannis Stefanis is PhD candidate of the Hellenic Mediterrenean University in Heraklion Crete with the support of the ARCHERS Fellowship. During 2019, I affiliated as an intern at ImVia, the Image and Artificial Vision Laboratory (Laboratoire ImViA – Imagerie et Vision Artificielle) – University of Burgundy in Dijon, member of CNRS, the national scientific research organization of France. My work is related with computer vision techniques in realtime surgical procedures and personalized medicine. I successfully finished the joint masters programme in Computer Vision of Université de Bourgogne in France and the masters programme in Applied Informatics of the Department of Informatics Engineering of Technological Educational Institute of Crete (2019).On July 2018, I started the affiliation with the Computational BioMedicine Laboratory (CBML), part of ICS-FORTH Institution. A graduate of the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia in 2011.


Konstantinos Spanakis  is a graduate of the Department of Computer and Networks Engineering of the University of Thessaly. Also, he is a graduate of the Departhment of Applied Mathematics, University of Crete. Finally, he has a M.Sc in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the Technical University of Crete. Currently, he is a Ph.D Candidate at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Greece. His research is on Image Processing. More specifically, his research at F.O.R.T.H deals with Image registration which lead to the publication of several pappers in Journals and Conferences.


Eleftherios Trivizakis received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree in Informatics Engineering from the Hellenic Mediterranean University. He is currently a PhD candidate in computational medical imaging at the Medical School, University of Crete and a member of Computational BioMedical Laboratory at ICS, FORTH. His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, image & data analysis.

 


Anastasia Pentari received her B.Sc. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete in 2013. In 2015 she received her M.Sc. degree in the same Department, with specialization in Image Processing applied to Environmental Applications. From 2016 until today, she is pursuing her Ph.D degree in Computer Science Department of University of Crete under the supervision of Academic Prof. Panagiotis Tsakalides. Her main interests lie in the fields of Sparse Representations, Image Processing and Graph Signal Processing applied in the biomedical field.


Eleftherios Kontopodis is currently works as a Technical Staff member at Computational Bio-Medicine Laboratory (CBML) of Institute of Computer Science at Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), in the medical image analysis field. He is also a PhD student in the school of Medicine, University of Heraklion. He received his diploma from the National Technical University of Athens, school of Electrical and Computer Engineering with the specialization in Electronics and Systems. He also graduated from Technological Educational Institute of Athens, department of Biomedical Engineering. Previous working experience is an internship in European Patent Office (EPO) in the area of Medical Diagnosis and an internship in General Electric Medical Systems- Hellas in the department of medical devices. His research interests are in the areas of mathematical modeling – control of biological systems and medical signal processing.


Vassilis Kehayas is a post-doctoral researcher in Computational Neuroscience. Vassilis got his B.Sc. in Biology and his M.Sc. in Brain and Mind Sciences from the University of Crete, and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Geneva, under the supervision of Professor Anthony Holtmaat. He currently works in the team of Professor Maria Papadopouli at the Institute of Computer Science at FORTH. His research focuses on how cortical networks are structured  and how they change over time.


Eleni Kazantzaki, is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Crete, Medical School, Department of psychiatric and behavioral sciences and has joined CBML since 2012. She has a M.sc in Brain and Mind in the field of neuroscience from the Medical School of University of Crete and a BA in Psychology from the university of Crete. Eleni has received PhD fellowships from Leventis Foundation, Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation and Foundation for Research and Technology. She has participated in psycho- emotional and cognitive research in various international and national R&D projects including P-Medicine, Semeoticons and iManageCancer. Her activities focus on patient empowerment, personal health records, psycho-cognitive, personality and emotional assessment in patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases and on early signs of serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.


Eleftherios Tzanis is a medical physicist. He received his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from the University of Crete and my Master’s degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program ‘Medical Physics – Radiophysics’). Since June 2017 he is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Crete, Greece. Moreover, he is working as a pre-doctoral fellow at Computational BioMedicine Laboratory-ICS FORTH. From June 2018 to January 2019, and participated as a data manager in the research program: “European Study on Clinical Diagnostic Reference Levels for X-ray Medical Imaging” (EUCLID). Results of his research efforts have been published in the scientific journal entitled “La radiologia Medica” and has been presented in the ECR (European Society of Radiology annual meeting).


Dr. Ioanna Peraki is currently a Post-Doctoral research fellow at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (I.M.B.B./FO.R.T.H.). Her research regards to the epigenetic regulation of intestinal progenitor cells by specific methylotransferases. She is a PhD graduate from the Department of Medicine of the University of Crete (2017) and she gained both her Bachelors (2008) and M.Sc. degrees (2011) from the Department of Biology of the University of Crete, where she trained mainly in Developmental and Molecular Biology.

 


Dr., Fotios Paloukis, Chemical Engineer, Postdoctoral researcher at FORTH/ICEHT. Master and PhD in the “Energy and Environment ”in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras. He has gained research experience in international and national scientific institutions (CNRS Strasbourg, University of Patras, FORTH/ICEHT). His research interests focus on the fields of Physicochemical characterization of catalysts by means of XRD , XPS/UPS and   SEM/TEM, In situ electrochemical and physicochemical characterization of catalysts by means of NAP-XPS at several Synchrotrons (ALBA-Barcelona, BESSY-Berlin, SOLEIL-Paris), Synthesis and characterization of catalytic systems for Fuel Cells applications, Electrochemical study of Fuel Cells (PEMFC and SOFC) and PEM Electrolyser, Synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for Batteries (Li-ion batteries). He has participated in International and Greek conferences. He has 30 refereed journal papers (with total citations >450) ; 1 patent applications.
